EasyJet introduces four new routes from Gatwick and two from Manchester Airport.
Flights from Gatwick to Mykonos, are now operate twice weekly (Sunday and Thursday), and daily flights to Montpellier. EasyJet have started a weekly service to Ajaccio and to Bastia. Sales have been strong, with 107,000 passengers expected to travel on the four new routes over the next 12 months.
From Manchester Airport easyJet have launched a daily service to Malaga (with one way fares from £29.99), and a twice weekly service to Crete (Tuesday and Friday with one way fares from £32.99). The airline expects to carry 123,000 passengers on the two new routes in the next 12 months.
David Osborne, easyJet’s UK General Manager, said: ‘easyJet has seen a huge increase in flights to summer sun destinations this year, re-enforcing our position as the favourite airline for independent travellers, providing convenient low-cost flights from your local airport.’
Monarch have followed suit and are currently running five flights a week out to Cyprus from Manchester.
